About

Artist Bio

Mélisse is a French artist, originally from the Chartreuse mountain range, who has been expressing her creativity through art from a young age, often covering every surface within reach, as her childhood room walls will attest. After a year of studying Printing in high school, Mélisse earned her diploma in Graphic Communication in Grenoble. She then chose to forge her own path, embarking on a self-taught artistic journey. It was among Chartreuse and Switzerland that she immersed herself in handmade screen printing and formed a creative partnership with another artist, leading to the creation of Méligraphie , a duo they maintained for two years.

Mélisse later moved to Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, where the Méligraphie chapter came to a close, giving way to a new artistic exploration. It was during her two years in Canada that she developed her signature dreamlike black-and-white universe, with pointillism becoming her primary technique.

The Process

Fascinated by intricate details and the stark contrast of black and white, she has naturally embraced the fine black marker as her preferred medium.

Through her art, she conveys her emotions, observations of nature, and personal introspections, inviting the viewer to engage deeply and discover hidden, intricate details upon closer inspection.

Each reproduced artwork is meticulously handcrafted, employing traditional techniques such as handmade screen printing to ensure a unique, authentic result.
